My machine will release water but no shampoo. How do I correct this?

Answer: • It is possible the SmartMix knob may have been forced too far counter-clockwise, causing the knob to stop between “Normal” and “Water Only/Water Rinse”. To fix this, force the knob clockwise past “Hi-Traffic.” This should reset the knob. • Check for proper placement of the o-ring on the SmartMix Cap Insert (some o-rings are detachable and need to fit over the straw; others are molded to the cap). • Check for fluid in the reservoir on the base of the machine by removing the SmartMix Bottle. If the neck on the SmartMix Bottle is undersized, the cap will not make proper contact with the unit and there would be no fluid in this reservoir. If the reservoir is dry, the SmartMix Bottle will need to be replaced. • Check for the black or red tank gasket on the SmartMix Bottle Cap. If the gasket is lodged in base of unit or has been lost, reattach gasket onto the cap or order new gasket if appropriate. • Set the SmartMix knob to Water Only. With the Tank-in-Tank Assembly in the unit (full of water) and the SmartMix Bottle out of the unit, turn the unit on, depress the trigger and flip the SmartMix knob from “Water Only/Water Rinse” to “High Traffic” 4 times. Stop on High Traffic. Firmly install the SmartMix Bottle and continue to depress the trigger for 1 minute. (If the machine stops spraying, turn off the unit, and depress trigger for 30 seconds, turn unit back on, and it should spray again.) You should begin to see bubbles and smell shampoo at this time. Note: If your machine still does not dispense any shampoo and you wish to continue cleaning; replace the shampoo in the SmartMix Bottle with water, set SmartMix knob on “Water Only/Water Rinse” and add 5oz of formula to the water in the Tank-in-Tank. You will need to fill the Tank-in-Tank with water ONLY when finished cleaning to flush out the system.
