BISSELL Pet Lovers

At BISSELL we’re a pack of pet lovers, just like you. Our pets and yours are the inspiration behind our products. Below are just a few of the pet lovers in our company that are featured on our new pet inspired™ line. As we continue to expand our pet products, we’ll introduce more pet loving employees!

Sam

Meet Sam, a 10 year old Golden Retriever. Sam is a talented guy. He loves to swim, play fetch and walk between people’s legs, in hopes of a good old back scratch. He has a complete series of tricks that he’ll perform for treats. He gets nervous around the Fourth of July as he is really scared of loud noises, anything from thunder and lightning to fireworks. Loud noises aside, Chris (National Sales Manager) describes Sam as laid back and full of life. Sam has been a part of the family for the last 6 years since he was adopted from a family that couldn’t take care of him.

At BISSELL, Chris handles sales for the new pet clean up and brushwares lines as well as covering Grocery, Drug and Dollar stores.

Scooby

Meet Scooby, a 10 month old Miniature Dachshund, and his friend Annie. Tim (Sr. Advanced Concepts Designer) and his family adopted Scooby when he was just 10 weeks old. Scooby’s outgoing personality makes him a very friendly puppy, his favorite toy is a Hello Kitty doll. Scooby loves to wrestle, rough house and run up and down the hallway. This past Christmas Tim dressed Scooby up as a cute little reindeer. Tim could see that it wasn’t Scooby’s favorite thing in the world, but he was a good sport.

At BISSELL, Tim spends most of his time working on the mechanical design for new BISSELL products. Having just been through housetraining Scooby, Tim’s second best friend at home is his BISSELL Little Green.

Phelps and Sofia

Meet Sofia and Phelps, two very lucky kitties. Beth (PR/Marketing Events Manager) and Adam (Sales Manager) adopted Sofia from the Humane Society of Kent County. When they returned to the Humane Society to pick out a playmate for her, they met Phelps. After hearing his story, they knew that they had to take him home. Someone had actually thrown the little guy into the Grand River. A kind-hearted person rescued him and brought him to the Humane Society where he was named Phelps because he survived his “swim.” Oddly, Phelps now loves water and comes running when he hears the faucet! In addition to water, Phelps love food and playing. He spends a lot of time trying to get Sofia’s attention so that she’ll play with him. Sofia is a little older and a lot more “refined.” She can be a little finicky but is a big sweetheart deep down. She is more independent but does enjoy her playtime with Phelps.

At BISSELL, Beth handles public relations and events – often traveling to BISSELL-sponsored pet events around the country. Adam covers sales of chemicals to grocery stores and helps support new business, including the pet lines.

Rollie

Meet Rollie, a 15 year old Cockapoo also known as Rolls or RolliePollie. She has been a wonderful pet and is a true member of the family. Karyn (Chemical Packaging Buyer) describes Rollie as queen of the house. In the summer Rollie has her own garden where she eats tomatoes and other vegetables. In the winter Rollie loves to eat snow; when her bowl is empty she pushes it around until it gets refilled.

These days Rollie is content resting and being a valued and spoiled member of the family. As she is getting older, her health and abilities are declining. She has more frequent accidents and Karyn appreciates and uses all of the BISSELL pet clean up products.

At BISSELL, Karyn buys and schedules many of our chemical packaging components including the Upholstery Cleaner that features Rollie.

Dexter

Meet Dexter, Dex, or Mr. Big Head a very large Bull Mastiff mix. Kristin (Consumer Services Assistant) first heard about Dexter at the BISSELL Blocktail Party. He was brought to the Humane Society of Kent County at just 2 weeks old without a mom so they were not sure he was going to make it. Today, Dexter is 2 ½ years old and full of life and lots of slobber. He loves to chew on rawhides and play frisbee. He is also a big television watcher. Dex will sit completely still for 20 minutes and enjoy the entertainment, especially if there are animals on TV. He is very lovable and likes to greet visitors at the door with a toy as he wags his tail in happiness to see everyone.

At BISSELL, Kristin handles the administrative work within the Consumer Services Department. She has a closet full of BISSELL products ready to clean up after Dex makes a big mess. Kristin cannot live without the Little Green for those stubborn spots on the sofa and carpet, and loves the Lift-Off Revolution for Dexter’s hair. She can’t wait to try the new Drool Cleaner!

Macy

Meet Macy, a 1 1/2 year old Labradoodle. Joey (Sr. Development Engineer) found Macy from a trusted breeder on the East side of Michigan. Macy also goes by the nickname “Pumpkin Mubber,” because of her beautiful pumpkin color coat. Macy’s passions include barking at her own reflection in the fireplace, playing outside as much as possible, chewing on her Nylabone® and going for car rides on “dates” with her “dad”.

At BISSELL, Joey has led the development of several new vacuum cleaners, including the Healthy Home Vacuum. Macy and her family take full advantage of BISSELL’S many great cleaning products. They frequently use the Steam Mop to clear away paw prints and the ProHeat 2X CleanShot to get rid of any odors or stains Macy might have left behind.

Bear

Meet Bear (and his two pals DJ and KC), a 7 year old black Labrador Retriever. Bear found his forever home at the BISSELL Blocktail party, an annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Kent County. Cathy (Director of Corporate Affairs) was impressed by his gentle demeanor and how well he mingled with her two current labs. Bear loves his new family and serves as a great example of the beautiful pets available in shelters that need homes. He’s almost perfect but he does like to sneak up on the couch when no one’s home!

Bear and his two pals helped inspire the ShedAway™ pet grooming vacuum attachment. Cathy was looking for a better way to groom the dogs inside without having to clean up a huge mess of hair afterwards. She worked with the BISSELL engineers to design a tool that could be used with a vacuum so the hair and dander is suctioned away as you groom.

Loco

Meet Loco, a 2 year old proud Mutt. Loco was part of an unplanned litter of pups at a country farm. Sue (Category Manager) was looking to adopt a calm, quiet puppy but Loco stole her heart when she charged forward to greet her and immediately began chewing on her shoe. Now Loco uses her endless energy to chase her ball all over the house and to play catch outside. She’ll chase the ball as long as someone is willing to throw it. She is a very happy dog and has a special new treat “dance” where she throws it up in the air, lets it land and runs around it barking at it. She’ll often do this for several minutes before she actually eats the treat.

At BISSELL, Sue oversees the Simple Clean category including the new pet clean up product lines, brushwares and sweepers. She loves the special pet hair tools to clean up the clouds of fur that follow Loco around the house and get everywhere!

Lucky

Meet Lucky, a furry Siamese/Tabby blend. Audrey (PC Technical Support Specialist) wasn’t looking for another cat, until an eventful trip to the mall while on vacation 8 years ago. On her way back to her car she saw Lucky and his littermates scurrying through the parking lot. The others were too scared, but when Audrey motioned and called, Lucky quickly changed his course of direction and made a break for Audrey’s arms, checking for cars as he dashed across the street. Lucky got lucky that day to have found Audrey. The two have been best friends ever since. Lucky loves to just chill and take it easy all day long. He makes a great pillow when Audrey is watching TV. His Siamese side makes him quite vocal and he will often “talk about his day” to Audrey when she gets home from work. He also complains loudly when Audrey hits the snooze button too many times or when he wants food!

At BISSELL, Audrey helps resolve computer issues. She is always ready to solve any problem with patience and ease.

Lucky

Meet Lucky, an opinionated, protective and fun loving Bearded Collie. For 13 years Lucky has been the last one Mike (Global Transportation and Compliance Manager) sees before he leaves for BISSELL, and the first one to greet him when he gets home.

When Lucky was 5 months old Mike adopted him from a Humane Society in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mike loves to remember when Lucky would alert him and his wife when his younger boys would try and sneak in after curfew. Lucky loves to take walks, play with his stuffed Comair jet and smell anything and everything. Lucky has always been and will continue to be an important part of the family.

At BISSELL, Mike tackles any and all transportation issues for the Global Supply Chain to make sure parts and products are where they’re needed at the right time.
